How Foods and Fats Can Impact Crohn's Disease

Healthy fat should be a part of your diet

Managing your diet and nutrition means not only taking in enough calories, but receiving those calories from the appropriate food sources. Healthy (good) fats should comprise twenty to thirty percent of your daily calories, according to Everyday Health nutritionist Kelly Kennedy, RD. One gram of fat is equivalent to nine calories, for an average 2,000 calorie per day diet, this translates to approximately 44 to 66 grams of fat.

This doesn’t mean you need to go out and grab a stick of butter for your next snack. It is imperative to realize that not all fats are created equal.
