Diabetes Patients May Be at a Higher Risk for Strokes

What is diabetes?

Diabetes is a disease that can be identified using four categories, but the main two that are commonly mentioned are Type 1 and Type 2 diabetesType 1 diabetes is seen in 5 to 10 out 100 people whom have been diagnosed.  With Type 1, the body’s immune system progressively rids of the cells responsible for releasing insulin, and eventually stops the production of these cells altogether.  Insulin is ultimately responsible for the absorption of glucose, or sugar, and if the cells are not capable of absorbing the body’s sugar intake, the individual is not able to produce energy to go about day to day activities.
