Exercise Tips for Those with Lupus
Pay attention to your body
- If you are recovering from a flare up or have been inactive for quite some time, you can’t expect to be an exercise expert right away. Make goals to increase your exercise capacity. Don’t try and run miles on the treadmill if you haven’t done exercises for quite a while.
- Listen to your body and stop when you are hurting. Don’t try and push your body to a place it cannot go. Listen to the signals your body sends to you.
- After exercising you will probably experience joint pain or discomfort. If this becomes serious, call your healthcare provider. If it is a simple annoyance, use ice to help control your painful joints.
