Fibromyalgia: Getting Past the Fatigue
The positive results
For the study, a total of 75 non-active women between the ages of 18 to 60 years old (all of which had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia) were divided into two randomly chosen groups. One group was told to exercise via walking for 3 times a week, whereas the other group was told to exercise the same amount but with swimming. The entire research effort lasted 12 weeks, with a variety of characteristics being analyzed in each test subject. The conclusion of the study was that both test groups yielded the same improvements in terms of their health, ultimately proving that both methods were acceptable as means of exercise for fibromyalgia patients.
