Get Better Sleep: Tips for Fibromyalgia Sufferers
Drink Plenty of Juice and Tea
For those who prefer a drink before bed instead of a full meal, cherry juice has been shown to assist with not only muscle pain and overall health, but has been reported in boosting levels of melatonin. This is a non-medicine based alternative for those who find that they do not want to take over the counter sleep aids. Those who had cherry juice in trial studies conducted by those at The University of Pennsylvania were shown to have some improvement over their insomnia symptoms.
Tea could also be an option that will promote a better sense of rest overall. Avoiding teas that have caffeine in them is suggested, even though Earl Grey and similar teas are excellent as daytime drinks and for overall health. This has been shown to help throughout the day as well, meaning that tea is an excellent option at any time. During the evening, however, it is suggested to stick with more mild teas such as passion fruit or lemon. Other options can be researched and found, as long as caffeine is not found within it. Caffeine can keep an individual up all night, which is why it is suggested to avoid anything with caffeine for at least two hours before bed, or sooner if possible. Another simple remedy that many people have reported around the globe is lemon water with honey. Finding all natural honey is all the better, but any kind from the store can help! The natural sugars that are found in honey can allow tryptophan to flow better through the body and access the brain through a natural means. Eating healthy during the day should also be considered, especially if sleep issues are being had by the individual with fibromyalgia. A diet rich in a variety of nutrients and vitamins is critical to the growth and management of fibromyalgia pain.
