Is Dementia Linked to Abnormal Magnesium?
So, what has the study proved?
These findings have proved that the levels of magnesium in the blood have a mechanical implication on the cognition of the brain. But, these results have no implication for treatment. It was discovered by Ronald Peterson, MD, Ph.D., of Mayo Clinic located at Rochester in Minn. He said that the data had a different implication for the function of magnesium for normal neuronal functioning. He also stated that he was not impressed, noticing that normal magnesium levels in the blood have a higher influence on cognition than a higher or lower level of magnesium. He further stated that the issue needs to be studied and cannot be concluded at this point.
