Most people know that diabetes greatly impacts heart health and greatly increases chances of suffering a stroke. These risks are attributed to heightened cholesterol levels that cause vascular disease. With this factor in mind, there is one more catch that relates to the condition of the liver. The risk for developing Fatty Liver Disease greatly increases if one is diabetic. According to Dr. Castro of the Mayo Clinic, half of individuals who have Type 2 Diabetes and almost half of those with Type 1.  One might wonder how this happens.  What factors contribute to this phenomenon?
