Mind Over Matter. Why a Panic Attack Consumes You

Fear of death as a cause for panic attacks

Fear of death, or Thanatophobia, can be a cause for anxiety when it becomes disabling and alters your daily life. Sometimes those with Thanatophobia will panic so much about death that they won't see friends or go to school out of fear for the danger of the outside world that could kill them. Sometimes they won't even eat out of fear of being poisoned.

However, a mild fear of death is not only normal, but healthy. It means that you won't put yourself into too many situations that you know to be dangerous out of self-protection.
