New Gene Therapy Could Reverse Paralysis in Multiple Sclerosis
New research
A team of biologists and neuroscientists from the University of Florida may have discovered a new gene therapy that can reverse the degenerative effects of MS. This adeno-associated virus (AAV) immunotherapy can have immense potential for reversing the degenerative effects of MS. AAV therapy works by producing MOG-specific regulatory T cells (Tregs) inside the body which seems to restore the immune response of the body in patients with MS.
