Parkinson's Disease: The Search for a Cure in Space
LRRK2: Going back to Earth
The crystallized protein sample was inserted into Minus Eight-degree Freezer and was sent back to Earth last September 15, 2017, together with the other samples that were in the International Space Station. It was reportedly given back to the research team. However, the Michael J. Fox Foundation or the researchers, are yet to give an update regarding the results of the analysis of the samples. Quite possibly, the team is still studying the LRRK2 crystallized proteins. Hopefully, they will share their findings with the public and that those findings are positive, which would be welcomed news to people suffering from Parkinson’s Disease.
