Cut back on alcohol, too
Like caffeine, alcohol can lead to bone loss (by offsetting the calcium absorption provided by vitamin D). However, just like caffeine, that doesn't mean you have to give it up cold turkey. Moderate alcohol consumption (one drink for women, two for men according to experts) is fine and likely won't disrupt calcium consumption. Try to stick with drinks that have low alcohol and sugar content as they will have less of a negative effect on your body. Light beers and red wine will be much better for you than heavier drinks like sugary cocktails.
