Technology Meets Medical: Using Artificial Intelligence with Parkinson's Disease
Using it for therapy and decreasing time spent on research
- Therapy: While Parkinson’s disease is incurable, there are still several therapies that can be done to temporarily ease and relieve a patient of their symptoms. Whether it is in the form of drugs or in physical therapy, the involvement of artificial intelligence can make a patient much more at ease and comfortable. Artificial-intelligent machines can guide a patient through his therapy and monitor the changes in the patient’s therapy sessions.
- Decrease the time spent on researching one subject matter: Traditional research (one without using artificial intelligence) may take several years (even decades!) to research on one subject under Parkinson’s disease. With longer duration, the cost of the research goes higher and if it is not successful, all work in that research may be wasted. Now, with using artificial intelligence, the time spent on the research may decrease, allowing the pharmaceutical companies and scientists to conduct another research in the consecutive years after without worrying about the costs.
