If you wish to reduce the inflammation in your body, you will want to choose foods that are high in antioxidants, yet low in sugars. Sugar can be a huge inflammatory food for people with RA. Fruits that are brightly colored are often antioxidants. Berries such as strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and blackberries are all high in antioxidants, as well as low in sugars, according to Sonya Angelone, RDN, owner of a nutritional counseling firm from the San Francisco, CA area and the spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
