Some teens may feel overwhelmed and pressured

Some might even find too many social events as overwhelming. A teen could also feel pressured to join these activities when they are trying their hardest to live as normal a life as they possibly could. They could even feel that their symptoms are embarrassing. As muscular dystrophy patients, they not only have their muscles weakening by the moment, but they also face respiratory issues. And, as they often end up in a wheelchair, some teens with muscular dystrophy may have several issues with their self-image and self-esteem as they watch others that are their age doing simple tasks, like walking, that they aren't able to do.
