The Real Cost of Sleep Disorders in the Workplace

Since there is almost a glorification around being sleep deprived and a misguided sense that working late into the night means that more will get done, employers often don’t think to promote good sleep hygiene nor will they take into consideration of how much money they are losing annually due to sleep deficiencies.  On the other hand, employees who go without a proper diagnosis of a sleep disorder, like sleep apnea for example, can see their productivity decrease and not have a clear explanation for it.  An employee who is always tired at work and who is making mistakes can be putting his or her job at risk along with their health and the safety of others because of an undiagnosed sleep disorder.
