These Risk Factors Can Trigger a Rapid Progression of Alzheimer's Disease

Anxiety medications

A new study has been suggesting that people who have anxiety or insomnia produce a higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Drugs that are receipted by the doctors for anxiety or insomnia are benzodiazepines, which have lorazepam, diazepam, and alprazolam. This drug is usually taken by older adults to treat their anxiety or insomnia. Even though it’s intake is usually short-term range, American Geriatrics Society classified benzodiazepines as potentially inappropriate for older people because it exposes them to the risk of dizziness, confusion, and the like. Moreover, benzodiazepines are not recommended for older people because these drugs have enough known risks to trigger concern regarding the side effects that they cause.
