What a Cancer Patient Needs from Friends and Loved Ones
Continually show your support
Cancer patients generally report an overwhelming wave of support upon diagnosis, but many people will slow or stop their support as time goes on. This is unfortunate for those who come to rely on the initial wave of support, as cancer is more often than not a long and arduous battle. For the cancer patient, the problem doesn’t go away when a visitor or loved one goes back to work. For that reason, you should ask yourself whether or not this a person who you are willing to spend months or even years supporting. Your answer should determine your level of involvement from the very start.
