What to Expect When Significant Others Have Lupus

Self-care can help them

As a partner, most of the responsibility lies with you and it is imperative to ensure that you are strong enough to handle whatever challenges the condition may throw at you and your partner. If you aren’t emotionally strong, please understand it is okay to cry once in a while.

On the physical level, eat clean, healthy and wholesome foods and encourage your partner to do the same and be sure to indulge in regular physical exercises from time to time. Sleep can be used for detox and to remove any stress from your body. It is also important that you do not make your partner feel helpless and let them contribute in any small way to common chores. There may be a day where you need to carry your partner, or help them eat or support them in walking, so being in a good state of health will definitely aid you for the days to come.
