What to Know About Sleep Apnea
Diagnosing Sleep Apnea
The most common reason sleep apnea is not often diagnosed is because doctors do not screen for sleep apnea in routine visits. However, doctors state that the only thing needed in order to determine whether someone is suffering from sleep apnea or not is completing a simple questionnaire. Also, snoring should also be taken as as sign for sleep apnea.
Once the risk of sleep apnea has been spotted due to snoring and other signs such as drowsiness, the next step is visiting a sleep lab or having a home sleep test.
