7. Avoid overheating

The last safety recommendation may come as a surprise to some. It turns out that according to a Swedish study, researchers have found that people with MS might have a sensitivity to heat, and that being overheated can exacerbate MS symptoms. Signals to the part of the brain that is responsible for keeping the body cool may not function as well in people with MS, which could make overheating particularly dangerous. There are simple things you can do to stay cool, though. The first thing is staying hydrated. Dressing in layers can be helpful as well, and if you are working out, try to stick to an area where there is air conditioning.
