What is a hallucination?
Hallucinations are a false perception of an event or object, but are very sensory and real to the person experiencing it. A hallucination may impact vision, hearing, smell, taste, or even physical touch. It could be comforting, such as the image of a dead loved one, or upsetting, like bugs crawling all over the arm.
