Anxiety and the Fear of Going Insane
Discovering the cause
The key is to finding a way to control your intense emotions that cause anxiety. The feeling of going insane often stems from feeling as if you are not in control of yourself, so try to find small ways to control things that may appear to be trivial, but that will give you a sense of control over your life. This could be something as simple as being very organized and sticking to a strict schedule. However, when you do feel as if you are losing control, make sure to remind yourself that that feeling will end, and you will get through it. After you endure anxiety attacks enough times, you will begin to notice your own patterns that lead to the attack. Once this begins to happen, you will become better at preventing them for yourself.
To speed up the process of understanding your own risk of panic attacks, try to keep a diary or write down the way you are feeling on a daily basis, then you can refer back to the diary to see what events or feeling got you to that point.
