Study Suggests Celiac Disease Is Linked to Nearly Every Inflammatory Disorder

Dr. Schwazenberg's main goal

One of the opening statements of the study, which can be found on the American Diabetes Association “Diabetes Spectrum” site, states that, “An association of diabetes with GSE has been observed since the late 1960s. In recent years, it has become clear that the incidence of GSE in patients with type 1 diabetes is substantial. A prevalence rate of 4–6% in type 1 diabetes has been reported.”  The study mentions that a large sum of patients diagnosed with celiac disease are in fact asymptomatic, meaning they are not actually aware of their symptoms.  This makes other patients wonder whether or not if there are other conditions that they should be wary of.
