Study Suggests Celiac Disease Is Linked to Nearly Every Inflammatory Disorder

Understanding celiac disease

Celiac disease is a type autoimmune disease that causes a reaction containing gluten, such as barley, wheat, or rye. More specifically, the lining of a patient’s small intestine will not allow for the absorption of specific types of nutrients as a result of gluten intake.  This is due to damage done to the small intestine, as triggered by the immune system.  This reaction can result in serious complications, such as bloating and anemia.  The most common of these symptoms will include diarrhea, fatigue, weight loss, anemia, and impacted growth.
