Pro Golfer, Ernie Els is Determined to Make a Difference for Autism

When Els began his career as a golfer, he certainly had no idea that he would go on to be involved in a variety of different initiatives designed to improve the lives of countless individuals. From his work with underprivileged youth, to the remarkable progress that he’s helped make through the Center of Excellence, Els has put his platform as a successful professional golfer to good use. When it comes to engaging in the fight to create a better world for autistic individuals, there are many different roles that need to be filled. There needs to be continued research by scientists and doctors into the causes and best treatment methods for autism. There needs to be more representation in the media and the continued breaking down of the stigmas against autistic individuals. And there needs to be a place where individuals and families can go to get help. As a star athlete and father to an autistic son, Els has located himself squarely in this initiative and is doing his part to provide the resources families need.
