Preparedness before and after is key
- Apply heat to sore joints before starting to exercise (optional)
- Warm up with range of motion exercises
- Start performing strengthening exercises with small weights and progress slowly over time
- Add aerobic exercises to your routine (cardio)
- Ease up if your joints become painful or inflamed. Contact your doctor so that he or she can find the exact cause and help treat it
- Apply cold packs to your joints after exercising (optional)
