Receiving less than the recommended amount of sleep every night and on a regular basis increases your risk for an early death. In a study of 10,308 British civil servants in 2007, researchers discovered those workers who reduced their sleep from fewer than seven hours a night were twice as likely to die from cardiovascular diseases.
