Building a Survival Kit to Combat Rheumatoid Arthritis
Find the right exercise for you
Talk to your doctor about certain exercises that you can perform. Many RA patients find that water exercises are great for building strength while lowering the stress and impact the workout has on your body. Yoga and other stretching exercises can loosen up the joints and relieve stress as well. The key thing when exercising is to start slow and only do motions that feel comfortable. You also want to make sure there is no pain when doing exercises, as pain is not only unpleasant but stunts muscle growth and reduces the effectiveness of the exercises themselves. Doing a couple exercises for 10-20 minutes a day can reduce your symptoms and make RA much more manageable.
