What Lymphoma Patients Want Others to Know

Keep it positive

Having lymphoma instills a great amount of fear in a patient. There is also likely to be some pent-up feelings of sadness, anxiety, and anger. These negative emotions can take control of a patient and make them feel hopeless. It is your job to insert as much hope and positivity into your loved one's life as you possibly can. You never want to talk to a cancer patient about another patient who ended up passing due to the disease. Try and remind your loved ones of all the survivors out there who have fought and beaten lymphoma and other cancers. You should also really think about things that could be bringing your loved one down. If listening to the news every night exposes them to horrible events and crimes, consider switching the channel to something else.
