6 Reasons Why It's Harder for Men to Be Diagnosed with Fibromyalgia

3. No obvious physical signs

The thing about fibromyalgia is that it does not have obvious physical signs. The patient may be suffering from pain and inflammation, yet it can’t be observed physically on the patient unless he complains.

In some cases, doctors still need to order an electromyography to determine the electrical activity of the muscles. Most of the times, these tests come out negative for damage caused by the disorder. This makes men harder to diagnose if they have the condition. If they will endure the pain and not tell a soul about it, people will never know they are suffering from the disorder.
