Foods to avoid
If you avoid certain foods, you will prevent disease celiac flare-ups, and the depression you experience will not be so debilitating. Some common foods you should stay away from include:
- Any wheat or wheat products
- Beer (most contain barley or wheat)
- Farina
- Graham flour
- Malt, in any form (syrup, milk syrup, vinegar)
- Pasta
- Rye
- Semolina
- Teriyaki sauce
- Read the ingredients to make sure there are no flour, barley, or rye components in foods.
- Common Safe Foods include: (a very small list)
- Fruits and vegetables
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Blue cheese
- Brown Sugar
- Most cheeses (check ingredients)
- Coconut products
