Nursing Schools Start to Tackle the Opioid Epidemic in Their Classrooms

Marymount University teaches their students prevention strategies.

This university also has their own pilot simulation session related to opioids. The simulation will cater to 90 students and just began in April. Students with any health major will be included, alongside students in their nursing program.

The session begins with a video demonstration and is followed by a lecture. The director of the college's nursing lab, Catherine Hillberry, teaches the treatment of opioid overdose while also discusses prevention strategies with her students.
