Temple Grandin’s Advice for Parents of Children with Autism

Even as an adult, many people continued to treat her adversely and think that she was weird. Yet her abilities as a design engineer continually impressed people. She sums it up perfectly in her response, saying: “people are impressed by abilities.” To conclude her response, she says: “my most meaningful interactions are with peers who share interests in animal behavior and welfare, and designing equipment. Having a career I love has made life worthwhile.”
