The Agony of a Little Girl Diagnosed with Sleep Apnea

Mia's Sleep Study

Both, Adam and Justine suffer from obstructive sleep apnea, so being aware of the symptoms actually helped them to have Mia diagnosed at a very young age. Mia Amdur was diagnosed with sleep apnea when she was only two years old. Adam and Justine, who live in Sarasota, Florida, took Mia to a Stanford Center for Sleep Sciences and Medicine sleep study. The study confirmed what they both believed, Mia had sleep apnea.

During the course of the sleep study, Mia stopped breathing around 27 times. Any pauses babies have during their sleep are considered abnormal, one or two are not a terrible concern, but Mia stopped breathing up to 27 times. It was a very serious issue.
