Alzheimer's and loss of smell?
My father has early-stage Alzheimer's and has been saying he can't smell things as well. How could these be connected? Could it be another underlying issue? He doesn't have any other health issues.

Loss of smell is common in Alzheimers disease.
Loss of taste and smell are one of the first things of change in Alzheimer's. Taking zinc supplements sometimes can help.
It's reported in some studies that loss of smell can be early signs of Alzheimer's.
