• Are artificial tears safe for the eyes?

I have a play and need to use artificial tears for the role I have. Is it safe to use them? Are there any side effects that I should be aware of?

They are safe, but consider preservative-free tears if you use the tears more than 5x/day.

Yes they are safe. They typically contain preservatives so they are meant to be used up to 4 Times a day. Some people are allergic to some of the preservatives as well.

Artificial tears are safe to use however don't use Visine. Systane, Refresh, Retaine & Blink artificial tears are safe to use.

Commercial artificial teardrops are safe from reputable companies. Most are sterile, water-based eye solutions.
