Seasonal allergies can effectively treated by using over-the-counter medication such as Claritin (loratadine), Zyrtec (cetirizine), Allegra (fexofenadine). These mediations can be used seasonally (3 month during the season you are affected, Spring March - May), or all year long. Some patients find that after about a year or two, they will need to switch to a different medication due to ineffectiveness of the current regimen. For example, they had taken Loratadine for 2-3 years, so they switch to Cetirizine.

You can take over the counter medications such as Allegra, Zyrtec or Claritin. If those don’t help than you should speak to your doctor about other options.

There are many OTC antihistamines that work great. I would avoid the sedating ones like Diphenhydramine or Carbinoxamine. Good examples would be Chlorpheniramine, Fexofenadine, Loratidine, Desloratidine, and Levocetirizine.

Hello there. Yes, there are many medications for seasonal allergies. The class of medications called antihistamines are a good place to start. This includes medications such as Zyrtec, Claritin, etc. You can discuss with a doctor whether taking as needed or regularly during the season(s) in which you are affected, would be the best option for you. I hope that answered your question. Be well and be blessed.
