A thyroid biopsy is usually a fine needle that is inserted into the thyroid nodule. The procedure itself lasts only 1-2minutes. There is no need for anesthesia or sedation. A few people complain of pain but this is not limiting.

Yes you are. The biopsy is done with a very small needle much like a blood draw. It’s very well tolerated. Some doctors numb the area. I find that it doesn’t matter. And people do well even without it.
