Osteoarthritis OA in the hip typically causes pain, stiffness, and a decreased range of motion in the hip joint. Pain can be localized to the hip, groin, buttock, or thigh and may be worse during or after activity. Stiffness is often most noticeable in the morning or after periods of inactivity. A grinding or catching sensation crepitus when moving the hip is also common.
