I am a 17 year old male — After 4 days from the tooth extraction (surgeon took it out in like 10 minutes) I’ve been receiving this horrible odor in my mouth and I absolutely hate it. I’ve been using salt water after each meal and even considered using a syringe to clear out the sockets and by the looks of it the socket it healing as the gums are wrapping around the socket. Any ideas of how I could fix this?? I hope this doesn’t become permanent.
Also is it fine to use nonalcoholic listening mouthwash?
Just keep doing warm salt water rinses and make sure to use a mouth wash. If its not hurting or causing your any discomfort it should be fine in a couple of days. Yes. Its is completely fine to use non alcoholic mouthwash.
It’s not going to be permanent. However, I recommend using a prescribed mouthwash like Chlorhexidine 0.12%.
Have it checked out. Meanwhile you can rinse with warm salt water.
After reading the symptoms, I suspect dry socket. I would recommend this patient visit his dentist to clean this area using chlorhexine and to prescribe antibiotics, ASAP.
I hope you feel better soon.

Dr. Arias
You might need antibiotics. You should go back to the dentist who removed the teeth for an evaluation. You might have an infection.
