After I had a bowel movement I wiped with toilet paper and it has bright red blood on it, is that normal?
This type of bleeding is usually secondary to either anal fissure or hemorrhoids.
There are many reasons for rectal bleeding such as hemorrhoid, fissure due to constipation and straining. However due to the increased risk of colorectal cancer in young populations, we don’t want to miss less frequent but more serious diseases.
Please see your family doctor to refer you to a gastroenterologist for possible colonoscopy.
