I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Can I eat sugary foods if I have diabetes?
While its best to limit sugary foods, having diabetes doesnt mean you cant enjoy treats occasionally. The key is and balancing your diet. Focus on controlling your carbohydrate intake, choose healthier options, and monitor your blood sugar levels. Always discuss dietary plans with your healthcare provider or a registered dietitian to tailor advice to your specific needs.
Can you? Yes. Should you? No. There is literally no part of our normal, healthy, body function that benefits from sugary and starchy foods, other then our mental enjoyment of them. This is true for people with NO diabetes at all, pre diabetes and diabetes. Sugar is not part of a healthy diet.
