I am a 34 year old female. I want to know if a cavity can cause tooth loss?

Yes it has a potential to cause tooth loss. It will depend on the circumstances such as the extent of caries and the structural integrity of the remaining tooth structure as a result of caries, signs of fracture or weak tooth structure remaining, degree of gum disease if it is involved or not leading to extensive bone loss as well

A cavity can Absolutely lead to tooth loss. That is one of the major causes of tooth loss.

Certainly a cavity left untreated would reach the ultimate end being loss of the tooth. Depending on diet, hygiene and tooth surface, would take many months or even a year or more to reach that point. However, the longer you wait to treat, the higher risk of infection and acute pain. Also treatment options become more expensive.

Yes. The tooth could decay to a point that it breaks off, or could become a toothache and need to be pulled
