• Can a crown be removed and put back on?

I have decay under my crown. How do you fix it? Can a crown be removed and put back on?

The decay needs to be addressed first and removed. In most cases a new build-up( core) is needed and the crown most likely will not fit.

The most predictable way to fix this issue is with a new crown. The reason that the tooth got a cavity under the crown is likely because the crown was no longer sealed to the tooth in an area. It is best to remove the decay and then fabricate a new crown to the new tooth levels for a good seal.
