Can alcohol use cause a kidney infection?

I am a 19 year old male. I want to know if alcohol use can cause a kidney infection?

IF it does cause an infection, it is usually due to chronic use and resulting dehydration.

Did something else happen with the alcohol use, such as a sexual encounter?
