It depends on the type of anemia you were diagnosed with and the underlying cause behind the anemia. Iron deficiency anemia, if mild, can sometimes be fixed with dietary modifications such as eating iron-rich foods and pairing them with vitamin C-rich foods (which enhances iron absorption).

Yes it can. It depends on what is causing the anemia. Menstrual cycles? A bleeding ulcer? First and foremost be sure there is no excess blood loss. If you are iron deficient, you may eat green leafy vegetables, Molasses, Pumpkin seeds, Seaweed, and red meats to raise your iron stores. You can also drink red wine and cook in an iron skillet. (Yes there is absorption from the skillet into the food).
