My daughter has hearing damage after an ear infection. Can ear infections cause hearing damage?

Yes it is possible. The accumulation of fluid in the middle ear can impair the movement of the eardrum and the bones of the middle ear, leading to decreased hearing. While this is usually temporary, repeated infections or chronic otitis media can result in permanent hearing loss.
