• Can excess protein cause weight gain?

My doctor has recommended that I should eat a lot of proteins to take care of my fatigue problem. However, I am gaining a lot weight. Could it be due to excessive protein consumption?

In the right combination, along with increased body movement, there should be weight management.

If you have only increased your protein intake without otherwise changing your diet, this may cause weight gain- you are taking in more calories, which will increase your weight. You may need to look at your diet and decrease carbohydrates, for example, to compensate for the increased protein.

Absolutely! "Excess" means more than you need. Whether it's protein, carbohydrate, or fat, all components of food have calories. Excess calories cause weight gain!

If your excessive protein consumption has increased your calorie consumption, yes.
