Yes. There is not need for sedation unless you are having severe anxiety about the procedure.

Yes you can be awake for implant placement. Local anesthetic WILL be used whether you are sedated or not.

Hi, yes you actually should be awake for implant procedures if you can tolerate it. I cannot think of any reason you should be sedated for this simple, commonly performed procedure.

Yes, with local anesthesia. Most dental implants are placed with local anesthesia. If you are undergoing other surgical procedures: sinus lift, bone graft, multiple implants, general anesthesia is suggested but not mandatory.

Yes. Although many people like some light sedation. They are drilling a hole into the bone to place the implant. Many people find this a bit disconcerting. But if you aren't, go for it!

Implant placement surgeries are very safe and comfortable procedures that are performed under local anesthesia. Patients are wide awake and very comfortable during the procedure.

Yes. For one or two implants, we typically use local anesthesia only. Patients normally equate the experience of a single implant similar to the experience of getting a deep filling performed, especially if guided surgery. For full mouth reconstruction with 4-6 implants per arch, we do sedate our patients.

I do mini dental implants with just minimal local anesthetic. The implant is placed and the crown is cemented at the same appointment.

Yes, we routinely place implants while patients are awake. The procedure is performed under local anesthetic without any discomfort for the patients.
