• Cancer Anxiety

I am a 28 year old male with no medical history and no current medical conditions. My only concern is that I am constantly worried I will get cancer and this does not let me enjoy my life. I wanted to reassure myself and get an opinion on how I can prevent it and live life. I have done my blood test everything was normal. I have no history of family cancer. I have quit smoking 2 years ago and am physically active everyday.

As long as you do what you can to stay healthy, the likelihood of you getting cancer is very low, especially at your age. Try not to worry about what may happen in the future, because none of us know what will happen, and life is too important to spend it worrying!

Congrats on quitting smoking. That’s an achievement and most likely you have helped yourself prevent smoking related cancers in the future. Continue to stay close to your ideal body weight and stay active as well. Establish good dental hygiene and monitor your health with your primary care doctor. If anxiety persists, contact your doctor for a brief visit. Finally, as you age, stay uptodate with cancer screening.
